Three New RFPs on Pulse Poductivity and Sustainability

The Global Pulse Confederation/CICILS-IPTIC is soliciting proposals from qualified suppliers for work beginning in 2015 to support CICILS-IPTIC's work in preparation for the 2016 International Year of Pulses.

The Global Pulse Confederation/CICILS-IPTIC is soliciting proposals from qualified suppliers for work beginning in 2015 to support CICILS-IPTIC’s work in preparation for the 2016 International Year of Pulses. Specifically, three RFPs for work related to pulse productivity and sustainability have been announced:

  1. RFP for Messaging on Pulse Sustainability 
  2. RFP for a Scientific Publication Plan on Pulse Productivity
  3. RFP Pulse Productivity Baseline

RFP for Messaging on Pulse Sustainability  

The IYOP RFP Messaging on Pulse Sustainability seeks a qualified supplier to produce a literature review and help develop messages on the contributions of pulses to sustainability to support CICILS-IPTIC's work in preparation for the 2016 International Year of Pulses.

The supplier will work closely with CICILS-IPTIC and the productivity and sustainability committee to conduct a review of the scientific literature on the contributions of pulse crops to the sustainability of agricultural systems worldwide. The review will inform the development of messages on pulse sustainability to support communication around IYOP.

The supplier must demonstrate expertise in the agricultural sciences, a prior track record of publications in related fields and experience in producing scientific synthesis reports.

The project must be completed by 1 July 2015.

RFP for a Scientific Publication Plan on Pulse Productivity

The IYOP RFP Scientific Publication Plan on Pulse Productivity seeks a supplier to develop a scientific publication plan on pulse productivity and sustainability in preparation for the 2016 International Year of Pulses.

The supplier will work closely with CICILS-IPTIC to develop a scientific publication plan on pulse productivity and sustainability. A scientific publication plan will be used by the Committee to ensure  that key audiences are aware of and have access to the scientific evidence base on pulse crop  productivity and sustainability. Suppliers must demonstrate previous experience with convening  scientists from multiple disciplines; brokering agreement & compromise, and preparing technical  reports.

The project must be completed by 30 June 2015.

RFP Pulse Productivity Baseline

The IYOP RFP Pulse Productivity Baseline seeks a supplier to develop a pulse productivity baseline baseline in preparation for the 2016 International Year of Pulse.

The supplier will work closely with CICILS-IPTIC to develop a pulse productivity baseline. A pulse productivity baseline will be used by the Committee to educate key audiences about pulse yields internationally and in specific regions and to document improvements in productivity coincident with the International Year.

Suppliers must demonstrate experience with using crop productivity databases and preparing technical reports. The Consultant should be familiar with major global research and monitoring institutions related to pulse production.

The project must be completed by 31 May 2015.
